The method employs extensive systematic wing-alone and fin-on-body force and center-of-pressure databases. Vortical flow fields due to the missile fins and the body at high angles of attack are modeled to include their associated nonlinear effects. Flow nonlinearities are also included in the prediction method. The workstation system version of M3FLR includes methods for checking input geometries through interactive graphic representations and has a range of graphic outputs, including multiple windows, to aid in interpreting the results predicted by the program. This environment is very useful for preliminary design and analysis of new missile concepts. It is an environment where design engineers can rapidly interpret a large amount of aerodynamic performance data to determine a good design, or to discover where problems can occur with a proposed or existing missile.
